From the time I’ve ink my first DC work EVER. JSA or Justice Society of America trading Card art, penciled by Paul Smith.
There’s a story behind this. Years ago before I made it into the comic book business. I was showing my inking portfolio around. In one of the conventions, I meet Paul Smith, who was promoting his book, Leave it to Chance. He looked at my portfolio and pretty much “discovered me”. Took my portfolio, with me in tow, and told every editor he knew at the convention to hire me. I followed him around the whole convention because he was holding my portfolio and showing it to everyone he knew. A couple of weeks later, I was doing my first work for Marvel. Then a few more weeks later, Paul called me up and asked if I would be interested in inking over his pencils on this JSA trading Card. Which was my first DC Comic work ever. Not exactly a comic, but was work for DC. Then that same year, I got my first DC comic work inking JLA, or Justice League of America.
Thank you, Paul!
